M&Y Maintenance and Construction has commenced work on 22 new homes in West Derby. This £5.1 million development will see four three-bedroom houses built for shared ownership through Liverpool-based property company Redwing and 18 one and two-bedroom apartments for affordable rent through Regenda Homes, two of which will be fully adapted for wheelchair users.
The high-quality homes have been designed by architects Halsall Lloyd Partnership (HLP), with the project team also including structural and civil engineers Alan Johnson Partnership and Mechanical and Electrical consultants Steven Hunt Associates. The homes will be built to high environmental standards, with air source heat pumps, photovoltaic panels and electric vehicle charging points.
The development provides affordable housing in a popular location. The first homes are expected to be ready for residents to move in in Spring 2023, bringing much needed, high quality, affordable housing to the area.
M&Y Maintenance and Construction Director, Chris Mellor said: “We’re pleased to be on-site at Mill Bank and excited to see this fantastic project start to take shape. As a local, family run business, we look forward to getting to know the community along the way and bringing these much-needed affordable homes to life.”
Katie Davies, Head of Development at The Regenda Group, said: “Our Group’s core purpose is to regenerate places to create opportunities for people. One of the key benefits of our partnership with M&Y is their approach to giving back to local people and communities, and we’re excited to see the impact they’ll make in West Derby.”
